Iframe embed code for joomla editor

Posted by: ashu

Few days back my one of my client whose site built in joomla saying me that she is not able to add iframe embed code in the editor while writing any article. To solve this issue I followed the steps as below hope this may work for other people who is facing same issue. I have used JCE extension for editor.

1. In the Joomla! Global Configuration, click on the Text Filters tab.
2. For the Super Users group, or any other trusted user group, set Filter Type to "No Filtering". Make sure that you only set this option for user groups that can be trusted as setting the Filter Type to No Filtering will essentially allow the user to include any html in an article.
3. In the JCE Control Panel, click on the Editor Profiles button. Click on the Profile name that the user, usergroup or component is assigned to, eg: 'Default'. Click on the Plugin Parameters tab, then on the Media Support tab. Check that the Allow IFrames is set to Yes.

This works for me

As a developer, you need to continue exploring your knowledge to find latest trends in market. To know how rapidly changes are taking place, you can compare a new website with the one launched around 5 years ago. Trend changes to make the things more impressive and convenient. Hereinafter you may find some predictions made by our Web strategists for upcoming year….

1. Responsive Web Design:

You can say it’s not just prediction. Responsive web design is going to rule in 2013. Hype of mobile, iPhone and ipad devices will make designers to produce responsive design to make a website easily accessible over different devices.

2. Focus on Branding:

Businesses are focusing on making their brand noticeable. Designers are going to focus on choosing the design that will compliment the brand itself or enhance the beauty of the logo.

3. Vertical Scrolling

This trend born from mobile device usage is vertical scrolling. Horizontal scrolling can be a bit intimidating on some mobile devices. This is why designers might have major concern over vertical scrolling in websites in future.

4. End of Flash:

Since HTML5 has launched, flashes are on the way out. This is because HTML5 is a capping technology in itself for creating dynamic layouts effectively without any bugs.

5. Social Media Integration:

Social media is already integrated with websites as everyone wants to promote their websites and social media is incredible platform to reach to the people in easy way. In 2013 it might be more powerful and much needed component for websites.

6. SEO Friendly Design:

Optimized images, DIY layout, low page load time all these considerations will be incorporated by designers while coding a website. It will help SEO professionals as well.

7. Clear Call to Action:

Even in 2012 most of the businesses followed the rule of clear call to action. This trend will continue in 2013 more effectively. Large buttons will be used more on a web page.

Excluding these there are few more things that can make impact are parallax scrolling, designed typography etc.

Actually we have been addicted to traditional SEO & paid marketing methods that rarely works in today’s scenario. Things are changed completely now, yet people are following the old trends. Today internet marketing success is all about love and relationship with customers. Here are few suggestions how we can attain that:

For Business Owners:

  • Cost of Acquisition - Save on Marketing, Invest on Innovation
  • Customer Loyalty - Will Paid Love Stay by Your side?

  • Ranking #1 isn’t all it’s crack up to be
  • Make others look good they will rank you well
  • Google has a spooky noise for quality
  • Believe in link earning rather building links

Social Media:

  • What, when and how frequently we share matters a ton
  • Sharing format and phrasing is huge
  • Only sharing your own content is a recipe for disaster

  • Your community is bigger than your site
  • The first interaction is often the last, unless…..Like, Follow, Share activities
  • “Time is Money” that’s true but another truth that belongs is that “Relationship is Money”

Conversion Rate Optimization:

  • Empathy + Creativity = Great Content
  • Include only the good stuff, Not the Kitchen sink
  • More and more testing for good conversion is nothing more than just a myth

Truths about Love:

  1. It Lasts
  2. It can’t be bought
  3. You gotta earn it

Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts. The first part is called “The Pledge”. The magician shows you something ordinary: a deck of cards, a bird or a man. He shows you this object. Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed real, unaltered, normal. But of course…it probably isn’t. The second act is called “The Turn”. The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary. Now you’re looking for the secret… but you won’t find it, because of course you’re not really looking. You don’t really want to know. You want to be fooled. But you wouldn’t clap yet. Because making something disappear isn’t enough; you have to bring it back. That’s why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call “The Prestige”.

HTML 5 A big Step forward...

Posted by: vinod.ostech

HTML5 is a new technology that allows developers to build rich web-based apps that run on any device via a standard web browser.

Some Features of HTML 5 are:

1) Available offline.

2) Data Storage : When web developers think of storing anything about the user, they immediately think of uploading to the server part but  HTML5 changes that, as there are now several technologies allowing the app to save data on the client device.

3) Connectivity

4) File Access : HTML5 provides very powerful APIs to interact with binary data and a user's local file system. The File APIs give web applications the ability to do things like read files [a]synchronously, write files to a temporary location, recursively read a file directory, perform file drag and drop from the desktop to the browser, and upload binary data using.

5) Semantics :
  • New media elements.
  • New structural elements.
  • New semantics for internationalization.
  • New link relation types.
  • New attributes.
  • New form types.
  • New microdata syntax for additional semantics.

6) Multimedia : Provide different type of multimedia like Vedio player , audio player.

7) 3D Graphics.

8) Presentation :

  • CSS - 2d Transforms
  • CSS - Flex Box Model
  • CSS - Transitions
  • CSS - Web Fonts
  • CSS - Text Wrapping

So in total the HTML 5 is going to play a major role in the  evolution of the web.

During my professional life I have been worked with thousands of people. I have found 20% of them with many minds at a time, Luckily I have met with 5 % people who can be included in the category of normal people. And rest of the people were out of their mind.

No I am not manipulating you from the topic but want to ask you while going to decide keywords you will target which of these people? No that's not funny at all.

Huhhhhhhhhh....It’s a major concern to choose the right keywords for your pages and start working in right direction. People usually don't pay too much attention to this concern. I have found people in many SEO industries that make use of Google keyword tool or some other for selecting the keyword without knowing what they are offering and what the aim they are trying to achieve by promotion.

According to me it’s the toughest job in SEO. You can never be assured that you have chosen the most suitable keywords to achieve your aim. So what should SEO professionals and analysts do for that? Nothing....Not kidding, seriously no need to get panic. Use your intelligence.....You can not predict what a common user will type in search box....even trust me then users do not know also what they are going to type to make the best search. This is why I said use your intelligence.......because keywords are changing with region, age, culture etc. Take your time and be sure about the audience you are going to target. half work is thing comes on the way whether you should work on long tailed keywords or competitive one. If you are just starting up your website you should choose the mid-long keywords initially. Why so? I have already Expected this question from you and the answer is ready......No that's not necessary; in-fact you can choose any either less competitive or most competitive, it’s same in the end. Why? Come on...... as last time, answer is ready again – Suppose if you have chosen less competitive keyword you will rank soon. Buy having some pages you'll index some pages with higher rank on those keywords. But that's not going to be beneficiary much as very little traffic is there on that keyword. The good thing is that now if you'll work properly on keywords with higher volume of traffic and build up link from the pages based on long tailed keyword, you will rank speedily. So, Total time is almost near about the time taken if you have chosen the competitive keywords. So, if you have a new websites, there is no need to get tensed about decision making for less or more competitive keywords. Keep relevancy to your audience in mind and just start working on it.

Some On-Page Recommendation:

Once You have finalize the keywords and Content, You may need to optimize your website. For that here are some points that can help you out:

What is On Page:

It consist the amount of work done at Source Page. As spiders crawl source page, a number of things are there to keep in mind while coding for a page. Some of them:

1- Proper HTML Structured Page – There must not be unnecessary code, Scripts and CSS must not be on same page, but should be called in coding through external links.

2- Meta Title – Ideally should not be more than 60-70 characters and keyword must be used once, if possible then in start, should be meaningful as well

3- Meta Description – Recommended length for Meta description is 150-165 with using 2 keywords and main keyword in early part of it.

4- Proper Use of H1, H2 and H3 tags – H1 tag must be used once including main targeted keyword within it, H2 and H3 can be use twice and thrice respectively. Avoid using Keyword in H3 tag.

5- Keywords Density: Not going for keyword stuffing in your content is good for you. 3 to 4% use of keywords in respect to overall content on page is best practice for SEO.

5- Content – Give fresh and more content to make the search engines happy.....they are just hungry of good content...If you will serve them quality content; Google will serve you the ranking.

6- Image Alt tag and Link Tiltle tag: Keyword must be targeted in image alt and Link Title

Software testing is an investigation conducted to provide stakeholders with information about the quality of the product or service under test.Software testing can also provide an objective, independent view of the software to allow the business to appreciate and understand the risks of software implementation. Test techniques include, but are not limited to, the process of executing a program or application with the intent of finding software bugs (errors or other defects).

Software testing can be stated as the process of validating and verifying that a software program/application/product:

  1. meets the requirements that guided its design and development;
  2. works as expected;
  3. can be implemented with the same characteristics.
  4. satisfies the needs of stakeholders

Software testing, depending on the testing method employed, can be implemented at any time in the development process. Traditionally most of the test effort occurs after the requirements have been defined and the coding process has been completed, but in the Agile approaches most of the test effort is on-going. As such, the methodology of the test is governed by the chosen software development methodology.

Different software development models will focus the test effort at different points in the development process. Newer development models, such as Agile, often employ test driven development and place an increased portion of the testing in the hands of the developer, before it reaches a formal team of testers. In a more traditional model, most of the test execution occurs after the requirements have been defined and the coding process has been completed.
